I first submitted a standard CV and cover letter in application to a role advertised online, that of Business Intelligence - Research Associate for the Africa Practice. I was then invited to complete a 2-part writing test (research task and creative writing question). I was then invited for a first-round interview with the director and deputy director of the Africa Practice BI&I team, which went well. I then was invited for a second (and final round) interview with a member of the operations team and a more senior analyst in the BI&I Africa Practice team.
It was a great experience as everyone I interacted with was kind, generous with their time, and clear about expectations and the interview process. My HR contact was particularly responsive and encouraging.
I was extremely disappointed to not be offered the job but the Director of the team proposed a helpful feedback call when I received the news.
