1. Hiring questions
We understand that the questions posed to candidates like yourself may not be commonly used. However, these questions have been carefully tailored to help us identify if candidates are aligned to our team with regards to their:
- Suitability for the role: The behavioural questions we ask are modelled after on-the-job circumstances (such as the question you’ve mentioned), and their responses are an important evaluation matrix for our team to determine a particular candidate’s suitability for the role they’re applying for.
- Personality & priorities: To create an enjoyable working experience for every team member we bring onboard, the personal questions posed to candidates help evaluate whether we are offering them their ideal environment to thrive professionally and whether the candidate can gel well with the rest of the team — which we believe are important for job satisfaction.
2. Hiring assessment
Our hiring assessment is modelled after our training programme, which our teaching associates will go through when they join our team.
Our Academic Team’s mission is to create and uphold an enjoyable learning experience consistently across all classes, regardless of the teacher’s seniority level. This means establishing high-quality standards and providing strong guidance to help our junior teaching associates effectively deliver key concepts and communicate clear thought processes to our students, so that they can excel with us.
While our teaching guides are important for maintaining consistency, we also encourage our teachers to personalise and adapt the material to meet the unique needs of their students.
Besides, the personality of our teachers is also an essential component that influences the dynamics of the class, which we actively work with our teachers to retain and elevate through other teaching engagement methods such as storytelling and showmanship. We also want to assure you that we are actively assessing for this component in our hires!
Ultimately, our goal is to provide a structured framework for student learning and mentorship within our growing teaching team, while allowing room for flexibility and individual teaching styles.
