Began end of last year (2023) with email inquiry, followed up by a request for a written statement/journey of faith, and 2 assessments. Lag time between communications so I stayed proactive with follow up communication. I was then notified that the position was being held off on until after the New Year. I reached out early January to express continued interest and had a phone interview scheduled. That was followed up with another different assessment as they changed vendors. It was communicated that a 2nd interview wouldn't be scheduled until after the assessment had been completed. I waited and was contacted to schedule 2nd interview which ended with "next steps are 1-2 more phone interviews with prospective team members which would then be followed up by an onsite interview. You will hear back early next week, likely Tuesday." After more than a week went by, I reached out via email. It's safe to say that as of today, 2/13, I've been ghosted. And this behavior is deplorable from individuals touting the importance of Christian character. It most definitely doesn't create or reinforce a positive employer brand. And for this 30-year professional, I've not experienced a more unprofessional outcome, completely disregarding of common courtesy and decency, ignoring a polite and sincere email simply asking about status of candidacy. You truly learn everything you need to about an organization during the interview process. "Practice what you preach" is the residual adage that rings true here. I ignored early apathy to continue pursuit and application; I'll own that piece.
