      Senior Account Executive Interview

      29 Jun 2021
      Anonymous interview candidate
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 7 weeks. I interviewed at The Lacek Group

      Interview

I had two set of interviews with The Lacek Group for two separate positions. Both were video chats - 1 on 1 or 2 on 1 - with several members of the different departments (usually totaling a few hours per position). For the first position, after several interviews, HR took 2+ weeks to get back to me before finally responding saying they downgraded the position to an Account Executive. Instead of leaving it at that, she said another SAE role popped up and she wanted me to chat with that team. While I was wary after the first experience with the company, I decided to go ahead and talk with that group as she confirmed 100% it would stay at the Senior Account Executive level. Everything went great with that next set of interviews as well, sent thank you notes after the interview, etc. but it's been over three weeks and I haven't heard anything. I followed up with HR 1 week after the interview, and again over 3 weeks later and am waiting to receive an update. I was very excited about the role, however I would not recommend interviewing with this company as the HR contact I have had is very unresponsive and misleading.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

They have these standard interview questions they all pull from. Very casual - just conversations besides the few questions they pull from their bank.

We’re sorry that your interview experience was unresponsive. Interviewing and hiring can take time, so we do our best to keep candidates informed every step of the way. Also, sometimes a client account’s needs shift and then we must shift our approach. Again, we apologize and thank you again for interviewing with Lacek.

      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at The Lacek Group

      Interview

Applied for the Sr. AE position and was then contacted by a Talent Acquisition Specialist to schedule an interview. Ended the call being told that I would soon hear about next steps. I sent a thank you email right after and then another email a few weeks later since I hadn't heard anything. Never heard back and the same job has been reposted several times since my interview so I'm wondering if they can't keep anyone in the position. Red flags all around.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

Standard questions asking about marketing & digital media experience, etc.

We’re so sorry that you didn’t hear back. That’s not how we aim to work with candidates. In fact, we pride ourselves in keeping finalist candidates abreast of our decision-making every step of the way. We’ll follow up with our team to help ensure your experience isn’t repeated. Thanks for letting us know.

      Senior Account Executive Interview

      4 Jan 2023
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Declined offer
      Negative experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at The Lacek Group

      Interview

Interviewed for a Senior Account Executive position - interviewed with 5 people and the recruiter. The recruiter came back and said the team had decided to change the role to an Account Supervisor level but let me know there was another opening on a different team for the original role I was interested in. I then interviewed with another 5 people on that team - and then the recruiter came back and told me they decided to change the role to an Account Executive position (lower level, less pay). So, they had me interview with 11 people in total just to change the position twice on me - did not choose to move forward because it gave me a bad taste. The recruiter was very nice though.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

Pretty standard interview questions - background, past work, behavioral questions

We apologize for your negative experience. That’s rarely the case for our interviewees. Sometimes a client account’s needs shift and then we must shift our approach. We’re sorry that happened to you and understand but regret your decision not to move forward. Thank you again for interviewing.
