I applied online. The process took 2 days. I interviewed at The Home Depot in Feb 2012
Interview
The phone interview consisted of a few "how did you handle this situation" questions and some equal opportunity stuff. I was then passed along to an HR person who informed of the HD job fair at the Saratoga, NY store where I would be scheduled for a 1:1 interview. The 1:1 interview also had some "how did you handle.." type questions but also some questions related to home repairs and garden stuff to see if I had any idea at all about the products. I was informed immediately that I was accepted contingent upon a background and drug test. I was given the drug test form and set up for an appointment immediately. After everything was completed I received a phone call from HD to go to the orientation at the store.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Describe an experience you had with a difficult customer/client and how did you handle it.
An in-person interview was conducted with a single manager who first started explaining his experience with the company and the possibilities available to grow within; then an explanation about the position and any addresses from there.
The interview questions were then conducted (approximately 5 questions) and were followed up with your interest in the company via your questions for the manager.
Personally, the interview was mostly about conversating with the interviewer and being nice/respectful to the individual. The manager did not seem to care about the answers given; if you do not have relevant experience, positivity and/or your ability to think on your feet with get you through. Also, my interviewer frowned upon my cliche answers to some (be genuine).

Question 1
Why Home Depot?**
Team work towards a goal?
A difficult time you were not able to focus?
Relevant experience?
What would you do if you did not know answer?
I applied through an employee referral. I interviewed at The Home Depot
Interview
Average interview process and questions.. nothing too difficult. Asked to talk about previous experiences. The interview lasted about 30-45 minutes. Seems as if they were hardly listening to what I was actually saying and just saying "ok" "gotcha" to majority of the things I said.

Question 1
Have you ever had to lead a group of people? How did you do this?
I applied online. I interviewed at The Home Depot (Saint Louis, MO) in Jun 2019
Interview
It was very laid back and informal. The question were pretty routine. They asked which department that you thought that you were most suited for and your availability. They then contacted me by phone and email to confirm that I got the job.
