Interview took place with editors. It was helpful for figuring out the expectations of the role. Was asked about prior experience as well as typical ‘get to know you’ interview stuff.

Interview
Very fast interview process, I was hired within 2 weeks. I had an initial phone interview, followed by an in-person interview and a writing assignment. I received the job shortly after submitting the writing assignment.

Interview
No mess, no fuss; just a relaxed chat with the managing editor and copy chief before a 15-minute editing test on paper. I appreciated that it wasn't structured to feel like I was standing before a firing squad and that they showed their personalities and didn't act so self-importantly.

Question 1
It was a conversational style of interview in which they wanted to know about my background and experience. Then I got the chance to ask them questions. It was great that there was no structured input - or hand-braking - from HR. It seemed they were just as concerned with personality fit as they were with my ability to perform the tasks.
