Thank you for taking the time to provide feedback. We are disappointed to hear about your experience. Since the process you've described doesn't accurately reflect how we run our recruitment efforts at GFI - Europe, we would like to clarify a few points to improve understanding and to help others who may be considering applying for a position with our organization. (Please note that GFI-US and other GFI affiliates have different hiring processes.)
First, we share the different stages of our recruitment process, including expected timelines and time commitment for each step, in the job description for each role on our website to ensure that candidates know what to expect before they apply. We agree that it's important to make our expectations clear from the start.
Second, we use a skill-based recruitment process and try to make it as fair and unbiased as possible. This is why we focus on anonymised, skill-based tests in the first stages of the process, don't request a CV before the interview stage, and do not require a cover letter.
Third, we understand that some candidates are used to having interviews earlier in the process. To mitigate this concern, we organise live Q&As for each of our roles, allowing candidates to ask questions and get more insights into the role, our work, and our team.
Fourth, as specified in the assessments you've received, the materials candidates produce during the application process are used only to assess their fit for the role. We never use candidates' work for anything outside the context of the recruitment process.
Finally, we also provide feedback at all stages. At the application and written assessment stage, it is true that we're unable to provide individualised feedback, as those take a lot of time to produce in order to be useful to candidates. However, we share general feedback notes about what the best answers looked like and what was required to move forward, so that candidates can self-assess and reflect on what they could improve. We provide individualised feedback to candidates who are advanced to the interview stage.
We hope this information is helpful and appreciate the time you spent engaging in our hiring process.
Wishing you all the best in your job search,
The GFI Europe Hiring Team
