      Product Marketing Manager Interview

      6 Mar 2023
      Anonymous interview candidate
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Difficult interview

      Application

The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at The Flex Company

      Interview

I actually had a similar, terrible experience as the person below (seems like for the same position) and wanted to throw in my 2 cents. My first interaction with the “HR” person (he’s not in HR and I guess he pretends he’s a developer for the company too lmao) seemed to have gone well and gave me the impression that this place was a decent employer to consider, so I was open to moving on with the interview process. Things sorta went downhill after my interview with the hiring manager. First of all, there are an unnecessary amount of interviews, a take home (unpaid) project that they say you should only spend two hours on but we know that’s never the case, and a final interview with several people. I felt extremely uncomfortable interviewing after my second interview with the hiring manager because I was seeing A LOT of red flags. The group interview felt very tense and uncomfortable because it felt like they were asking a lot of irrelevant hypothetical questions just so they can “grill” you and get a sense of how much pressure you’re willing to put up with. The questions they were asking were, to be quite honest, very lame. I.e. what would you do if you ran an AB test but the company decided that they couldn’t scale because of xyz resource issues. Like I’m sorry what? Do y’all even know what you’re asking? Why would you even run an AB test if you know you have issues with scaling due to resource or time constraints? Also if you spend some time going over these glassdoor reviews and actually go through the interview process you’ll realize that a lot of the negative reviews are probably spot on. Overall the team seemed very unhappy to me as well? They kept mentioning how “f-in hard it is to sell period care” and I don’t know, maybe if y’all got it together it wouldn’t be 🤷‍♀️ I also can’t believe they made the candidate below me feel bad for declining her offer because they didn’t even have the common courtesy to send me a decline email after all those interviews and project (which I would’ve been fine with tbh because they seem like a mess). And lastly, I see this “HR” person trying to do damage control in glassdoor and it’s like drop it, y’all are toxic and it’s as clear as day. No need to take on PR on top of being a developer AND and HR manager!
