I applied through an employee referral. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at The Difference Card
Interview
The process was a complete nightmare from start to finish, and the HR department along with the members of the team I interviewed with were all completely disorganized and seemed to be pulling a bait and switch with every interaction. I was told multiple times that I’d be better suited for different positions which is hard to say when you don’t know someone. There were 4 different interviews, 30 minutes to 2 hours in length. The team seemed rude, condescending and not personable, and the interview questions were more interrogation style than actually finding out if I could perform the job functions. I would stay away, the atmosphere screams toxicity.
I applied online. I interviewed at The Difference Card (Armonk, NY) in Aug 2023
Interview
The interview process was vague, time consuming and arduous. Started interviewing in August (three 1-hour zoom interviews) and Ultimately was invited for the final, THREE HOUR INTERVIEW, at their Armonk office a month after I started the interview process. There was no clarity around when the role was to be filled or the candidate to start. Vahgue answers which were different from all the folks I interviewed with. The format of this interview was 1-hour pitch on topic of choice to the CRO and East Coast Markets manager. Next, 1-hour 1:1 interview with CRO, and lastly a 1-hour 1:1 with the CEO. Every went great, the only deficiency in my past experience was addressed during the first interview and was told by the CRO and CEO, it would not block me from being considered for role. After the 3-hour interview at the Armonk office, radio silence. 2-days after the in-person marathon interview the person who would be my boss, asks me for references via email. I send reference. *TWO WEEKS GO BY* I reach out asking for a general timeline etc, I am told they need another reference, a broker reference. I send that in. another 7 days go by. NO word from anyone at the difference card re: reference calls etc. I reach out inquiring about next steps etc, two full months after I started the interview process, and they went with another candidate. If you require respect and common decency when it comes to your employer or a potential employer, this interview process may be not be for you. Hands down, the worst interview process I've ever been a part of in my 14 years in the insurance industry.
I wish I could tell you about the process, but I only had one interview, which I believe went well. However, I was ghosted. I interviewed with them back in January, and I guess at this point, I did not get the position. VERY UNPROFESSIONAL
