I replied to an ad on craigslist. Had a phone conversation about my experience, and the people we knew in common in the industry. We discussed how his program differed from others that I was familiar with, and what types of employees had been successful in his operation. Had another phone conversation a few days later, after some of my references were checked out. Accepted the offer, and was flown out to the head quarters for train shortly thereafter.
