      Freelance Copywriter Interview

      30 Sept 2022
      Anonymous interview candidate
      New York, NY
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at The Charles (New York, NY) in Sept 2022

      Interview

After applying, I was contacted on August 1 and informed that the interview process starts with a copy assessment. I agreed to do the assessment the same day and received an email back with the assignment. I sent the assessment back the day it was due and received no response. I followed up on August 12, August 17, and August 31. I didn't receive a response to any follow-up message. It takes five minutes to respond to somebody and treat them like a human being, but that appears to be too much to ask for from The Charles, which is especially rude when you ask someone to take their time proving their abilities to you. I will never again do an assessment before at least having a phone screen or interview with a person at the company.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

I was given a copy assessment which consisted of writing social-media and email copy.
