After completing the online application, I was contacted by the lab manager to schedule a phone interview. During the interview, we talked about my research experience, what the requirements for the job would be, whether or not I would be cooperating with clinicians, and the general work environment. My research background was different from the research focus of the job, and I was later told by a reference that I was one of their top picks, it was just that they had found someone with more relevant experience.
