Interview
After applying for the job I was contacted for a phone interview. The phone interview was short but then led to a follow up in person interview. The in person interview involved both the hiring manager and the vice president of consulting, as well as a group of current employees. Approximately one week after the in person interview I was offered the position.
I applied through an employee referral. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at The Berkeley Electronic Press (Berkeley, CA)
Interview
There were two interviews: One was over the phone, and the second was in person.
The in-person interview itself was many years ago, but I remember it being friendly and fairly casual. I first spoke with the VP of Consulting Services and the Hiring manager through the generalities, and questions you normally hear in a job Interview. After that, the VP left the room and around 3 managers came in and joined the Hiring Manager.
I was asked a number of casual questions, which I later found out were drafted to ascertain which team I would fit best in. It worked swimmingly, as I still love my team group.
I felt comfortable throughout the entire interview, and was even apologized to as it is very uncommon for the hiring manager group to be almost entirely male, and they wanted to make sure I was okay with that. (Side note: the department is approximately 80% female, and there are currently 2 male Team Managers out of 10ish total)
Additional Note: If you live outside of the Bay Area, you will not be compensated for travel costs incurred going to the interview.

You have GOT to pay people more than that, with all these tech company jobs around; wake up y'all.
