Interview
Initial screening video call with a recruiter not based in the location I was interviewing in. Recruiter was enthusiastic and nice. Typical general interview questions and they spent 15 minutes telling me about the benefits and opportunities for growth within the company.
Invited for an onsite interview two weeks later. The interview was again scheduled over the phone. The conformation email said I would be interviewed by three people but I ended up just meeting one person. Interview took place in a conference room and there was no tour of the lab, though the recruiter told me there would be. Some basic interview questions like "why do you want to work here" along with some more technical questions about lab safety and instrumentation knowledge. The interviewer was nice, but didn't seem to know anything about my resume. I left with the impression that they already had someone in mind and were just checking a box with my interview.
