Very Technical. Know the basics and be able to talk on at least one project that will be beneficial to the role you’re applying. First over the phone with the recruiter followed by a test then one on one with the panel.

      Application

I applied online. The process took 6 weeks. I interviewed at Tesla (Fremont, CA) in Oct 2013

      Interview

I had applied online via website, had a little hope that the recruiter will see my resume through the pool other ones. But I received a call one day mentioning that there is an opening in Vehicle Engineering, and they would have skill test on the software platform. I had already interned in here for a summer so I knew what I was getting into and was willing to work with these diversified pool of engineers. The recruiter arranged my interviews with manage on the phone. He asked me a series of question to get the grasp my abilities on the work may be expected to do here. He explained me, all the way, how things work and what they are expecting. would you be interested? Once that was done, they called me for an on-site interview(all expences paid/reimbursed) They had arranged my interview with 6 different people at successive times half hour each, I recommend taking a water bottle with you its not that they don't have water but its a bit rude to get out of the seat for water all the time, but don't be nervous a drink to much as well. After 6 different interviews, with various grade of people I left and 1 week later I got a call saying the director wishes to interview me, I was fine with it, did that. Total close to 1 recruiter interview for 0.5hrs+ 1 manager 0.5+ 6 interviews 3hrs + 1 hr directors so total 5 hrs. and mind you I was talking for 5hrs for there questions. Then got selected, had another offer, but the environment was good, I am single, not committed, so long working hrs is fine with me. I was expecting this
