I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Tesla (Fremont, CA) in Oct 2013
Interview
I had applied through Tesla's website and got a call from the Recruiter two days later asking if I was still actively looking for a job. The recruiter set up a phone interview the next day. Mostly behavioral questions!!! We spoke for about 30-40 mins and then she set up a phone interview with the Hiring Manager
Second round:
This interview was technical. The Hiring Manager (Sr. SQM) asked a lot of questions from my resume and about manufacturing processes.
The recruiter got back to me two days later saying the Hiring Manager was impressed and invited me for an on site interview.
They are very flexible when it comes to the dates. I was able to chose when I wanted to be interviewed. Flew into San Jose on a Friday and was interviewed the next week.
I was interviewed at the Fremont location. A total 7 interviews were scheduled for that day.
They covered various areas. If you are a supplier quality engineer and are good at what you do, the job is yours. They are looking for high energy candidates. Very technical !!! They are going to ask you a lot of technical questions
I absolutely enjoyed talking to every single person that interviewed me. Met with at least 10 people (SQE's, Sr. Supplier Quality Managers, Sourcing Directors, VP of supply chain). Very respectful, knowledgeable, smart and they all know their stuff.
Overall I thought the interview was difficult. Well, I think it depends more on how much experience you have. I have 2 yrs work experience as an SQE with a company that makes Red Engines.
Declined the offer due to a competing offer from a Cupertino based company.
I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at Tesla (Fremont, CA) in Feb 2025
Interview
Recruiter reached out for available position, and wanted to move on for 2nd round 30 minute interview call. The interviewer did not show up to the interview and there was no quick response from the recruiter after kowing what happened. Recruiter emailed 6 days later that the team wants to move on with another candidate with giving no proper feedback or reason of not interviewing.
