I applied online. I interviewed at Tesco (Buckingham, England) in Aug 2017
Interview
I was invited over the phone to go in for an interview, we went into an office where I was interviewed by the deputy manager. It was very laid back, we had a laugh and spoke about general things. He first talked me through the procedures if there was a fire etc, then he looked through my cv and asked about my references. Next he went on to ask me about my availability and asked me the set questions (i'll post below). After this we were supposed to go and interact with customers however they were short staffed and so this wasn't possible. Then I had to fill out a form about my health, if I had any health issues with standing up for long periods of times, reaching up, bending down etc. He told me I would hear back within 7 days however they usually contact quicker if they like you because they don't want you to go elsewhere. I recieved a call around 2 hours after I left the interview telling me I had passed the interview and wanted to arrange my induction.
Interview was around 2.5 hours in total. Started with a group interview then 20 minutes on the shop floor shadowing a checkout colleague then finally a 1 to 1 interview with a manager.
Nice environment. Kind people. Asked the right questions and I felt I could ask any questions i had. Overall I enjoyed the experience and would recommend to other people to do an interview with them.
Very easy, just asked a few questions about my experience and my availability on time etc. what days i can work and my flexability on the dates i can do
