I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Tempus AI (Chicago, IL) in Mar 2020
Interview
I applied on a 3rd party website and an HR recruiter contacted me within a week. I passed the HR screening and spoke to the manager in charge of the team for the next interview. She was extremely rude and unprofessional. One of the questions she asked was "describe a time you successfully navigated an operational process" to which I asked for clarification. She said it was "open to my interpretation". I responded with a professional answer talking about managing IT workflow in my department. Before I even finished talking she said "How is that an operational process?!" with attitude. Unfortunately, they sent the rejection email before I was able to withdraw my application. I feel bad for everyone that works under her.
Another thing I found weird was when speaking to HR and this other manager, they kept talking in circles on what Tempus actually does. They kept talking but weren't actually saying anything. Gave me Theranos vibes completely, like they were hiding some big secret.
