Interview
I interviewed with Techcyte Oct 2023 and the whole process took about a month. The interviewers seemed like nice people and enjoyed their job. However, the interview process itself could use some improvement:
- Slow IDE: The IDE Techcyte uses for coding interviews is slow and physically does not have the CPU and RAM to run one of their second round questions in Java. If you're a Java developer like me, even though Java is an option, expect to have to code in Python or Javascript instead.
- Unclear interview expectations: The emails did not make it clear what to expect in these interviews, making it difficult to prepare; they vaguely stated "software engineering topics and problem solving skills". I wasn't sure if that meant a Leetcode style interview or a system design interview etc.

Interview
The first step was a technical interview with an engineer. The interviewer arrived 10 mins late and took the call from his car as he had forgotten about the interview. I get things happen but it was very unprofessional. I answered 95% of the questions right and got rejected the very next day.
