      Application

I applied in-person. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Teavana

      Interview

It was a group interview. There were about 7 or 8, including myself. The interview began with the manager making us tea and then she started asking the questions. It was pretty straightforward, though it did take a long time due to how many people were being interviewed at once. The interview took place inside the store, before store hours. It was very important to pay attention, because later on in the interview we were asked to name facts about the tea we were drinking. We were also asked what we knew about the company so definitely do your homework if you want to impress the manager. After the questioning process, we were each given ten minutes on the sample cart, where our goal was to try and get people to come over and get samples. Overall, it was a pretty decent interview. I would recommend wearing nice clothes, black jeans or dress pants is a good idea, and a nice shirt. Business - casual. Questions included: What do you know about the company? Describe one fact about the tea you're drinking Why do you want to work here? What sales experience do you have? If a customer in the store is upset, how do you handle the situation? Avaialbility? How would you help increase a sale? What do you know about up-selling, down-selling, cross-promotion?

      Application

I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Teavana (Los Angeles, CA) in Feb 2013

      Interview

I had applied online and was immediately called in for an interview two days after. I had arrived at the store promptly with another waiting. While waiting for the rest of the group the team leader gave us the tour of the shop and treated us as if we were customers. The Manager was preparing our drinks and quickly explained the details of the tea. We waited for the others to arrive two showed up 20 min late and the other two did not show up. They too were shown the tour and were given drinks. We then headed to the food court area of the mall and the interview with each explaining the most recent job experience, availability, and questions were things like an issue you had with a client/customer and how you overcame it, a time you had to convince someone something, and a time you didn't reach your goal and how you reacted to it. Finally we were given the big question which was "Sell me the cup of tea in your hand." Main thing about this was that all the information about the tea in your hand was already given to you at the beginning of the interview so it's the fact of whether you remembered and how well you presented it. I was hired Immediately the next day and my first day of the job was a couple of days after that.

      Question 1

Last question completely through me off and I would not have succeeded in the task if it wasn't for one of the others in the group who remembered every spec about the product. So really pay attention to every detail!
