Difficult interview
Application
I applied through university. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Target
Interview
I had 4 interviews - it was a phone screen, interview with DTL/HRBP, GVP/HRM for final interview. They asked situational based questions - tell me about a time when...All interviews were similar with 5 questions each. They start with Tell me about yourself, strengths/weaknesses, why Target? etc. All had great personalities and were a true display of the culture at Target - fast, fun and friendly.

Question 1
Tell me about a mistake you made; walk me through a project that you planned and executed; tell me about a conflict with someone
Interviewed 4 rounds, was transparent each time about being available to start asap, looking for immediate employment etc. At the end of the 4th interview, I was told there was no opening for the role I was applying for, but they were willing to hire someone for the bench, but "only if they were the right fit," but they also were not in any hurry. I asked why this wasn't disclosed earlier, and they did not have an answer. A week after my final interview, I received an automated rejection letter. I would have hoped after 4 rounds of interviews, that I could have received personalized feedback regarding the decision, but I was not given that courtesy.

I applied online. I interviewed at Target (Sioux City, IA) in Dec 2024
Interview
Applied online. I received an email to choose an interview time based on the recruiter’s availability. Interview was a phone call. I was a little surprised it wasn’t a video interview. Recruiter was professional. I declined to go to next steps after I heard the schedule expectation.
I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Target in Jul 2024
Interview
There was a minimum of 5 interviews which is way too much. You should know by a maximum of 3 interviews if the candidate is correct or not. I’d recommend revamping the process to allow for a better candidate experience.
