I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Tanium in Sept 2021
Interview
1. Meeting with Recruiter (Phone Screen - 30 min)
2. Panel Technical Interview (45 min)
3. Meeting with Hiring Manager (30 min)
4. Communication-skills Interview (30 min)
5. CIO Interview
This all took place over a 3 week span.
1. Simple process, reviewed resume, discussed compensation and was given a full picture of expected interviews.
2. Technical interview team (3 engineers) gave off a negative-attitude vibe. Enough to make me question moving forward. One engineer asked position-relevant questions including a specific question about O365. The second interviewer asked the exact same question i'd already answered about O365 and then honed in on a specific piece of O365/Okta provisioning I had not done. They seemed more interested in not having a very specific piece of experience compared to how simple it is to read Okta documentation for O365 configuration.
3. The manager was great and this interview brought me back to considering Tanium - interviews are supposed to be about both parties seeing a fit too, right?
4. Communication interview was decent. Those dated "tell me about a time" questions. This interview had to be rescheduled due to computer issues the engineer was having, then during the interview he admitted he could barely hear me due to home construction he was having done.
I was told Tanium would be moving on prior to the CIO interview. They've posted the position a dozen times since then (for 2 months now), so I guess they want a perfect unicorn.
Oh well, look up Tanium news online and you probably don't want to start an interview process anyway.
