I applied online. The process took 6 weeks. I interviewed at TIER (Berlin) in Aug 2023

      Interview

The first interviewer was visibly yawning while I was answering their questions, which comes across as unprofessional. The main issue, for me, lies in how they schedule and organize the interviews. I had my first interview after a week, but then I was informed that I needed to wait because some people were on vacation, which I understood. However, it's frustrating to start a hiring process when the necessary team members are unavailable. After multiple reschedules, I finally had the second interview, which took a month to arrange. The second interview itself went fine, although I didn't have high expectations. Surprisingly, I was rejected because I didn't know the specific language they were using, which seems nonsensical since it wasn't mentioned as a hard requirement in the first interview. It appears that the negative reviews are primarily due to the lack of communication and clear organization. After what felt like forever and a bunch of reschedules, I finally got the second interview, which took a whole month! The second interview was okay, but I got rejected because I didn't know the language they were using. This was weird because in the first interview, they said it wasn't a big deal. It's pretty clear that this company's got a communication and organization issue when it comes to their hiring process, judging by all those bad reviews.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

Pretty much standard, explain pass experience and how you deal with certain situations.
      Answer question

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 6 weeks. I interviewed at TIER

      Interview

Dishonest & Pitiful HR Practices The HR and EM interviews went great, and I received positive feedback very promptly: just the next, if not the same, day. However, scheduling the next step, a technical interview, came with a noticeable delay, when the recruiter plainly disappeared for a few days. This was the first red flag. Nevertheless, the tech interview itself, though held nearly two weeks after the previous one, went just as good and friendly, with all questions answered and all topics discussed in detail. The interviewers, quite pleasant in their attitude, promised to pass their feedback on to the recruiter the same day, but I didn’t hear back for a few more days. This was the second red flag. On Monday the following week, I received an automated (“no-reply”) email informing me that they’d moved on with another candidate. This was hardly a surprise at that point, as even prior to that, it had been evident to me that at some point, the company had put my profile on ice and been artificially extending the process, in anticipation of another candidate accepting the offer and actually starting the job (which supposedly took place that very Monday). Overall, the company has failed to manage the hiring process in a graceful and ethical manner, and this fact entirely crosses over the friendliness and enthusiasm of the individuals involved. The HR person—who chickened out of providing personalized, tangible, and constructive feedback, instead just sending an automated rejection—was the epitome of the company’s ethics. That’s what I’ll remember about Tier (and, by extension, the companies it recently merged with), and that’s what I’ll be telling any colleague who asks me.
