I applied through university. The process took 5 days. I interviewed at TIAA (New York, NY) in Apr 2012
Interview
I first applied through my school's Career website, and then was contacted that I would be having a 1:1 interview on campus. This interview went well, the person interviewing me was very friendly. It was a standard behavioral interview with some questions about why you chose TIAA-CREF. I was then contacted later in the week to come in for a half day interview session the following week.
The half-day session consisted of 5 interviews, going over seperate areas such as technical knowledge, problem solving, business knowledge, etc. There were several other students here as well and I think there was another session as well. Everyone was very nice and professional, except I think by the last two the interviewers seemed like they were not interested and didn't want to be there - possibly tired from a long day of interviews? This was kind of annoying and I thought a little disrespectful as I had taken off the day from work to take time to interview here.
I was told they would get back to us within a week, but I actually got a call they were still deciding. Everything was professional and nice, but it took another 2-3 weeks I believe for me to find out that I had not received an offer. At this point it didn't matter, as I had already received two offers and accepted one and would have not been able to accept this one. They were very informative though, and I can't fault them for trying to make the right decision - they seemed sincere. The only thing was those last two interviews had left a bad taste in my mouth already.

Interview
Hiring process was incredibly quick. I submitted a video interview and didn't hear back for roughly 2 weeks. I don't really mind this but some may find it annoying. After my video was reviewed I was invited straight into the Final Rd. of interviews in person. This was 3 consecutive 1 on 1 interviews. The Talent Acquisition prepped me for the interview beforehand and gave several great tips for really nailing the process. I had a great time.
