      Mutual Fund Representative Interview

      12 Aug 2021
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Toronto, ON
      No offer
      Positive experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at TD (Toronto, ON) in Aug 2021

      Interview

Received an email that opened to two online tests- one of them was a behavioral test, asking you how strongly you agree with certain situations or practices and the other was a "simulation" test, which would test your listening skills and attentiveness. Pro-tip: Have a calculator nearby. Then, after a few days, received an email from the TSA team for a phone interview, which was relatively easy- behavioral questions and a few of the easiest yet most important questions about Mutual Funds e.g. the relationship between bond rate and inflation/interest rates. The TSA hiring person was very friendly. The last round (for most) is an interview with the Hiring Manager, who asks some more in-depth behavioral questions. Pro-tip: do not admit to any of your weaknesses, be an invincible freak of nature in your answers because the manager is really thorough and hangs on to every word you say, which is understandable since they don't know you from Adam's. There could also be a language test, which was the only part of the interview. This was the only tricky part of the interview as the "language expert", during my interview, was kind of stand-offish and made a lot of grammatical mistakes, which is totally fine, I guess, but hey if you are not up to par with your language capabilities, (maybe hence the hostility and coldness), then you cannot judge anyone else on their knowledge of the language. I did not get the job but the interview process was really nice, albeit a bit drawn out.
