As a salesman, I know that consistency and follow up is key to success in this business. This company has neither of those. The CEO contacted me saying that, “I’ve selected your profile among hundreds for our business developer / sales open position”. I said, “ok, I’ll be available Friday afternoon”. He replied: “[…] Let’s save ourselves some precious time and hop on a call.
What's your phone number?” To which I was surprised because there was no respect towards the fact that I said that I would be available on Friday. Anyway, apparently it was a misunderstanding (but if you translate from French to English, there are false friends and you should revise your message as you cannot literally translate anything from French to English).
Anyway, I told him that I would be available from 2pm. I never received his call…
If I was this important to him, “among hundreds”…, he should have taken the time to send a message stating his unavailability, but not even that…
I’m glad that I never received his call. If you have some time to waste and you speak French, take a look on his videos, those were my first red flag. There are zero lessons on how to do sales and the whole time he is blaming salesmen, that they don’t do enough and that’s why they are not succeeding…
I think this company has to wake up and realise that we are not anymore in the 90’s…
