I got a call about a week after applying, asking me to come in for an interview. I mentioned that I currently live and work almost two hours away, but was still asked to come in. When I arrived, it was quite clear that the hiring manager had never seen my resume and was unprepared for the interview. I was asked one question while he looked over my resume and was told within 5 minutes that I didn't have the prior experience necessary for the position and was not even given the courtesy of a proper interview. While I understand that I was not what they were looking for, it felt very unprofessional and a waste of time to come in for an interview when I was obviously not a qualified candidate based on my resume. Had someone taken the time to actually read my resume before scheduling an interview, I could have avoided taking the afternoon off of work at my current job and driving nearly 2 hours for a 20 minute "interview." Overall, the process left a bad taste in my mouth about the company.
