I received a brief email saying that I was invited to the Sun West Mortgage Software Engineer Self-Assessment test. I had a applied through LinkedIn and to me Sun West isnt't that well know and I had never heard of Intervue (the asynchronous testing tool), so I made sure to do a quick check online to make sure it wasn't a phishing scam.

Interview
After applying, I received an online assessment from Intervue.io (like HackerRank, CodeSignal, etc.). Seconds into the OA, there were several pop-ups indicating lip movement, multiple people detected, and suspicious eye movement whenever I looked down to type on my keyboard. It was just me, and I did not talk during the test. And at one point, it said I had switched tabs when I hadn't. It was pretty distracting.

Interview
Applied online and received a proctored online assessment shortly after. The assessment included basic software engineering questions focused on string parsing, data structures, SQL, and general programming concepts. The coding portion was not overly difficult and focused more on problem solving and clean logic rather than advanced algorithms. After the assessment, there was a follow-up interview discussing previous projects, technical background, and general software engineering knowledge. Overall the process was straightforward and entry-level friendly.
