      Account/Relationship Manager Interview

      16 May 2016
      Anonymous interview candidate
      San Francisco, CA
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied through an employee referral. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Stripe (San Francisco, CA) in Apr 2016

      Interview

First round, call with existing team member. Team did not have manager. Reviewed resume. Next round was 'writing project' where you're asked to respond to two fake client emails, rewrite a technical subject on their site, and then analyze a spreadsheet with Stripe data by answering 6 questions based on your findings. They ask you to spend 2-3 hours on the writing project but in reality I spent at least 5 since it demands a ton of research. Although the project says 'don't worry too much about getting the "right" answer, just show us what you would do/say' Stripe's recruiter told me they had passed on me because some of my data answers were incorrect, but gave feedback nor specified what questions I got wrong or what the correct answers were. I followed up a few times since the recruiter said they needed to get these answers from the team and have not heard back from them now a month later. Very unprofessional experience.

      Question 1

Explain a technical topic to a broader audience - On Stripe's current homepage, we say "Stripe.js lets you build your own payment forms while still meeting PCI requirements." We'd like to write a short blurb that explains this in more detail, targeting the more general audience mentioned above. Please take a crack at writing this up! To be clear, the goal is to explain how it works while highlighting the benefits.
