I applied online. I interviewed at Storyteq in Nov 2025
Interview
About twenty five minutes speaking with a Tech Talent Partner about my career and the company projects and products. It was a very friendly meeting and I received feedback afterwards.
I applied through other source. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Storyteq (Amsterdam) in Sept 2024
Interview
I recently went through a multi-stage interview process with StoryTeq, and the experience left much to be desired. I had three interviews, each about an hour long. The first technical interview felt more like a casual chat, where the interviewers came off as amateurs who didn’t even understand the methodologies I was trying to explain. Instead of diving into relevant topics, they fixated on one specific feature of JavaScript, completely missing the broader point.
Then came the challenges. Not one, but two separate challenges that are supposed to be completed in just two hours each—an unrealistic timeframe for the complexity they expect. And if you don’t finish them perfectly within that time, they seem to get irritated, as if the pressure isn’t enough already.
During the second interview, I walked them through everything I did for the challenge, answering very basic and, frankly, silly questions. Despite this, they seemed pleased with my explanations—until they weren’t.
Finally, I got a rejection email claiming I "didn't understand how async works in JavaScript" because I used a synchronous function in a specific context where I had explicitly explained why it was a good fit. They either weren’t listening or didn't care to understand the rationale behind my approach.
To top it off, the recruiter would call me unexpectedly on my personal phone, with no prior warning, whenever she wanted to get in touch—highly unprofessional and intrusive.
Overall, the interview process at StoryTeq felt disorganized, unprofessional, and full of contradictions. Definitely not a company I would recommend based on this experience.
