      Lead Stylist Interview

      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at Stitch Fix in Dec 2020

      Interview

3 different interviews... 1. Phone 30 minutes (Background/Screening) 2. Virtual 45 minutes (Behavioral/Situational) 3. Virtual 2 hours (Behavioral/Situational/Pitch) required presenting a project to 3 different people with Q&A following Some questions seemed incredibly wordy to try and trip you up....After interviewing for many years I felt as though it was difficult to keep answering questions that were the same but slightly worded differently. Became redundant and tiring after 2 hours in. After about 10 hours of contact between myself and the company between interviews and scheduling they simply sent me an email saying I was not right for the position which I felt was incredibly cold after all the work that was required for the position. Since it was a mid level position I did respond back asking for feedback in which they lied saying they took someone with more experience when in fact that was not the case. If you are over qualified for the position they would prefer more green employees to teach them from the ground up.

      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at Stitch Fix (Pittsburgh, PA) in Oct 2020

      Interview

I was actually prepared for a negative experience because of recent review on Glassdoor from a candidate who interviewed for the same job in the same city, I am confident that I had the same interviewer as that candidate. I feel like I am highly qualified, capable, and enthusiastic for the Lead Stylist role in Pittsburgh. My interviewer introduced herself, then asked a few generic questions. There were no follow-up questions to my answers, no questions about anything on my resume, and this segment was non-conversational. It was frankly bizarre. She was done interviewing after 7-8 minutes, then asked if I had any questions. I did have 5 questions, that she answered to my satisfaction. That segment was more conversational because I was able to dictate the flow. Overall the call was 18 minutes long, the majority of the time was her answering my questions. I truly felt like I was an inconvenience and was not given an opportunity to explain my skills and experience. My expectations of having an interested and conversational interviewer were not met. I can take a “no” and understand if there were better candidates, but this was truly an unprofessional experience where I was not given the appropriate opportunity for this position.

      Question 1

The questions were generic, which is standard. But there were no follow ups to my answers. It was completely non-conversational.

      Lead Stylist Interview

      Negative experience

      Application

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Stitch Fix (Austin, TX)

      Interview

Very long and tedious process - especially for lead stylist. About eight interviews before you get to the end. At the end of the day, it’s trying to join a sorority that finally feels the need to be value based during times when companies need diversity. Make sure to read reviews carefully and check out their teams on LinkedIn.
