Process entailed the following: Pinterest project, phone screen, deep dive project, panel interviews at office, final project presentation. Really enjoyed the two projects - both were in-depth trend analysis with visual presentation. It took 2 weeks to complete both. What I didn't enjoy was the actual in-person interview experience. Some interviewees in the panel were professional, genuinely interested and nice people. Others were aloof, uninterested and seemed like they had a chip on their shoulder for some reason. Hiring manager came off very unexperienced and uninterested. There was a rattling of behavioral questions by one person- to the point where I felt like I was on a game-show for "Tell Me A Time When". I get that it's part of the interview process - but it felt more like they were trying to cause tension or make me uncomfortable than actually get to know me and my experience. In the end- it felt extremely deflating that not one person in the interview had positive feedback or even a "thank you" for completing the final project - which was a huge effort. It felt like an interview for a sorority - not a professional job - where I was being judged not by my skills, experience or project content - but on how I fit in with the girls. Overall - I would not pursue working at Stitch Fix again due to this experience. I admire the company and had a lot of excitement and passion for this role - but I want to work somewhere that treats me with respect, both as a job candidate and as a person. There was mention of having no work/life balance at the company. Perhaps that's why they couldn't find time to show more professional courtesy. Stitch Fix boasts being a company that's kind and caring - they should practice treating their interview candidates the same way. It's a Trend role for ecommerce clothing - not saving lives. Step off the pedestal.
