      Application

I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at SteelSeries (Villeneuve-d'Ascq) in Sept 2024

      Interview

A 1st interview with HR, followed by an interview with manager. Then they send you a Technical test to be done at home, you have a few days to complete it. Once reviewed, you have a last technical interview in which they ask you about your coding choices and ask you to find bugs in a little app.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

How do you feel about learning new languages
      Answer question
      Negative experience
      Easy interview

      Application

      I interviewed at SteelSeries (Lille)

      Interview

Honestly, it was pretty simple. First I had a quick HR chat to talk about my background, expectations, and the company. Then I did a technical interview with a couple of devs where we discussed my experience and how I approach problems. Finally, I met the team in a relaxed setting just to see if the vibe and way of working matched on both sides.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

      • Can you explain what an Audio Processing Object (APO) is and where it sits in the Windows audio pipeline? • How would you design a low-latency audio processing chain in C++? • What are the main causes of audio glitches or dropouts, and how would you debug them? • How do you handle buffer sizes and sample rates in real-time audio processing? • What’s the difference between processing audio in the time domain vs the frequency domain? When would you use each? • Have you worked with SIMD or other optimizations for real-time DSP?
