I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at State Street (Quincy, MA) in Mar 2025
Interview
Two step interview. First was the technical round, then the behavioral interview. Very basic react and JavaScript questions. Make sure to study react hooks, class vs functional components, memoization, and how to set up react redux. No typescript needed.

Question 1
What is the difference between a class and functional component.
I was reached out to for a video interview screen. I asked some clarifying questions from the person setting up the meeting, but they said they were unable to answer them. They suggested I reach out to my recruiter, which I did, but I never got a response before my interview.
The interview was listed as being with one woman, but when I got on the call, it was with two men. The questions were pretty standard, mostly just general experience with tools and project management that they were using. I didn't have a ton of overlap with what they were looking for, so I figured I'd need to be a little lucky. After not hearing back for a while I assumed I'd been forgotten about. 2 months later, I received an email saying they would not be moving forward with my application.
The interview itself wasn't hard, but I would've appreciated my recruiter actually responding to me, and letting me know I'd been dropped much earlier.
