I applied through an employee referral. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at State Street (Boston, MA) in Aug 2014
Interview
I interviewed there three times before I got the job. I was rejected twice. The first interviewer was the worst ever. He didn't ask anything since he had his mind made up already. Literally was a waste of time. Second one was very similar. Third one didn't care at all.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
My availability since I go to college. They had issues with that in the past with interns.
I applied online. I interviewed at State Street (London, England)

General market awareness and macroeconomic knowledge questions like interest rates, alongside discussion of academic background, subject interests, relevant coursework, analytical skills, and how studies relate to financial markets and economic decision making.
I applied online. I interviewed at State Street in Jan 2026
Interview
The process was fairly smooth. I was first reached out through a phone call through HR, who asked simple screening questions, such as whether I was still interested in the opportunity, my availability, etc. After that initial call, it took around a week for them to invite me for an interview. The interview was laid back as it was conversational with no technical questions asked. They just want to get to know you--what you do in school, outside of school, hobbies, and interest. Two back to back interviews with senior managers with of the firm. Be sure to come prepared with a lot of questions about State Street and why this field/position.
