      Intern Interview

      Easy interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 4 days. I interviewed at State Street (Dublin, Dublin) in Feb 2016

      Interview

I have applied online for the summer internship with a State Street. The application process is quite easy but the website itself is quite poor- I could not find the college for the specific area...and I had to reload the page few times and start over again. I have got a phone call in a few day, foreign number, but I answered, so their "HR Specialist" asked me can I take the interview. I was outside the class in college and had a lecture in a few minutes. So, I said that timing is not the best one and I would appreciate if they ring me back in an hour, so I could talk freely. But she insisted that it should take only 5 minutes and I agreed. It started as a general interview about the CV, salary expectation, desired location etc. It lasted about 25 minutes and then she asked me a technical question. I was a bit furious as she said it was only an introduction interview. So, I said that I wasn't expecting this and can they call me back for the second round interview. They never did and I was expecting this. To be honest, after the interview, I read a lot of reviews about the company and more negative than positive.

      Interview

The process was fairly smooth. I was first reached out through a phone call through HR, who asked simple screening questions, such as whether I was still interested in the opportunity, my availability, etc. After that initial call, it took around a week for them to invite me for an interview. The interview was laid back as it was conversational with no technical questions asked. They just want to get to know you--what you do in school, outside of school, hobbies, and interest. Two back to back interviews with senior managers with of the firm. Be sure to come prepared with a lot of questions about State Street and why this field/position.
