I applied online to a several different jobs on the State Farm website and got several rejection emails. A few weeks later I got an email with a link to a skills test. The test included data entry and typing, and there was a personality questionnaire as well. After a few more weeks, I got an email requesting that I schedule a phone interview for the underwriter's service assistant position, so I did. At the time of the scheduled interview, the lady I scheduled the interview with called me and asked me basic questions "Tell me about yourself," and "Why do you want to work for State Farm." The rest of the questions were geared toward gauging my work ethic, customer service background, and problem solving abilities. She was very easy to talk to and the interview experience was pleasant. When she finished asking her questions, she asked if I had any questions. After she answered my questions, she told me what the salary would be and whether I would be willing to go to work. I said yes, and she I'd be getting an email regarding drug testing and a background check. The next day I got two emails from this 3rd party called HireRight, filled out my background check paperwork, and scheduled a drug test. State Farm sent a contingent offer email with more information for me. At the end of the next week, I started getting nervous and emailed the person who sent the contingent email asking if everything was ok, and she told me that it was, and that I would get an official offer by a certain date, and my start date would be November 11. Time between getting the interview scheduled and my start date: over a month.
