Went through 2 rounds of interviews, only to be hit with a generic rejection message after the 2nd. The male interviewer seemed like a write off as soon as the interview began, so I can’t say I was incredibly surprised.
They seem nice enough & I’m sure they’re compassionate in other ways, but I believe the way you treat people you don’t have a direct relationship with matters. If someone’s interviewed with you, especially multiple times, I feel like a direct rejection is the more kind option.
I applied online. The process took 5 days. I interviewed at StartPlaying (Austin, TX) in Apr 2026
Interview
Joined the Google Meet 1 minute early, sat in an empty call for 30 minutes. Company emailed me saying that they would not be moving forward with my application. I suppose the entire job posting was fake and a waste of time.

Interview
The first step of the interview process is a Take Home Assignment . Under each exercise, they do explain what you'll be graded on. In total, there are 5 assignments provided, multiple pieces to each assignment, that will take hours to complete - there is research, communications to write, event planning and more. No wonder they give you 3 business days to complete it. Upon completing the Take Home Test and passing it, THEN you will be scheduled to go forward for: 1. A phone screening with the CTO (30 min) 2. An interview with the CEO (1 hour) 3. A soft skills interview with the COO (1 hour) 4. Last is the Case Interview with the Head of Op's (no time amount indicated). After the interview process, they'll check your references and good luck! The interview process is WAY more work than I have ever seen in my 15 years as an Executive Assistant for C-level. The Take Home Assignment - assessment is a LOT!

Question 1
I didn't even get to the interview process after I saw what the Take Home Assignment included and all the work it entailed. I didn't bother to do all the pre-assignments just to get an interview - not worth it!
