      I applied online. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Starling (Cardiff, Wales)

      Interview

      The initial application was completed on their website, with space to add why they would be mad not to have you as part of the team, along with your employment history and experience. A short time after the closing date I received an email from the recruitment manager asking for a brief phone chat which I managed to complete during a lunch break. This acted as a first interview. He asked broad questions about experience and knowledge of Starling. Later that evening I received an email from the recruitment team asking me to book an online video interview to be completed on the Lifesize app. The earliest bookable interview was two weeks away. The interview was completed by two Starling colleagues - a recruitment colleague and a Customer Relations manager. It felt more of a casual chat rather than a formal interview. They explained the role very well, asked the same questions as the initial telephone interviewer as well as some that were more role specific. Finally they asked what I knew about Starling and what interests I had as they had a lot of colleague activity groups. They gave plenty of time for questions, which they answered very completely. It is clear that they think very highly of Starling and made it sound a great place to work. They then said I would receive feedback from the interview the following week. However, no feedback arrived. Waited until the end of the following week but still no word so emailed asking for an update. They replied within minutes saying they were still interviewing for the role and would aim to provide feedback the following week. No feedback arrived the following week but on the Monday after I was informed I didn't get the role as other applicants had more suitable skills and experience. Good process overall, sad not to get the job! Could be improved by stating how many interview stages there will be. Please also be realistic about when feedback will be provided. Better to give no specific timescale than an inaccurate one.
