I applied online. The process took 1+ week. I interviewed at Starbucks (Miami, FL) in Jan 2011
Interview
I applied online at starbucks.com and filled out an application. its fairly lengthy and asks you questions about yourself, your work history, and what you would do in certain scenarios. i checked off four locations in my neighborhood and in a few days got a call from a manager to do an interview. once there, i got offered a free drink and sat down with the assistant manager. make eye contact! however, she looks down while she writes down what you're saying. she asked about myself, and what i have done in certain situations at work and school etc. got my second interview in a couple of days and its pretty much the same thing with a different manager!
Interview questions [2]
Question 1
Name a time you were given constructive criticism.
Basically a short chat about my availability, my interest in the job, why I want to work there, how familiar I am with coffee and what my past experiences in hospitality were.
Easiest interview I've ever had. I was only asked 3 questions, 'tell me about yourself, what are your strengths & weaknesses, what is your availability?' Lasted about 10 minutes maximum
Thank you for taking the time to write your feedback. We appreciate your input and are happy to hear that you’ve enjoyed the interview process here at Starbucks.
it was great. I answered every question thoughtfully and easily. You have to have two interviews, one with the manager and one with the district manager. It is a in person interview. They ask many questions and will either hire you on the spot or you will have to call to see if you get the position.
