The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Starbucks (New York, NY) in Jan 2011
Interview
i applied online and it took 2 days to get a call back. I was asked to come in for an interview the next day. I came 10 mins early and was offered a drink (take the drink, ask for something simple like coffee or hot chocolate) I waited over 20 mins and the assistant manager said the manager wasn't there she had to leave early so he would be interviewing me. over all he asked questions like why do you want to work for starbucks ? Are you able to handle rude customers? he told me he really liked me and to call them if they don't call me. i called about on 4 diff occasions and was told they will call me whether i got the job or didn't. i never heard from them and the process definitely dragged on. If that happens, make sure you call !
Received an email asking to schedule an interview for the following week. The interview took place in the store itself, and took about 15 minutes. The questions were pretty average.
First interview went well, just the basic behavioral questions that should be answered using the STAR method. Second interview was less questions but with the district manager. Still waiting to hear back (if they reach out at all).

Question 1
Tell me about a time where you had to navigate a situation where the supervisor wasn’t available.
Basically a short chat about my availability, my interest in the job, why I want to work there, how familiar I am with coffee and what my past experiences in hospitality were.
