I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at Starbucks in Mar 2015
Interview
I had a call from a Recruiter and had a brief 30 minute on-phone interview with her, followed by an interview date. Met with 2 District Managers at a local store. I was offered a coffee tasting to start the interview. There was a short dialogue regarding my reason for applying to the company. After that, the two DMs fired scripted scenario questions at me for about a half hour. Expressions were deadpan. No dialogue following my responses. They each scribbled down notes. They asked if I had any questions. At the end of the interview, I was told that I would have a decision within 5 days. It was one of the most unsettling interviews I ever went through. Could not read if I did well or not, no conversation. . I received an e-mail at the end of that time from the recruiter saying I was not being considered.

Question 1
Tell me about a time when you dealt with a difficult customer situation.
Tell me why you believe you would be the best candidate for this position.
I applied through an employee referral. I interviewed at Starbucks
Interview
Phone interview with a recruiter who expects STAR style answers. The questions are pretty standard and easy to find online, so prep isn’t hard. Honestly, the toughest part, if you’re already an internal employee, is getting the interview in the first place. You really have to show your managers that you’re serious about moving into the role.

Question 1
Give me an example of a time you solicited feedback and encouraged the sharing of ideas by your time or group of colleagues. (What actions did you take with that information and what was the result?)
Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We appreciate your input and will take it into consideration as we continue to improve our interview process.
I applied in-person. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Starbucks
Interview
For an external hire, pretty normal for an interview. For an internal hire, they basically want you to answer as if you were a robot. They want you to answer by telling a story in the STAR format (Situation, Task, Action, Result)

You will be asked scenario questions. Answer based on your experience not what you would have otherwise done. Be specific and paint the picture as if you are telling a story.
