Twelve rounds with a required dance number and an audience-provided question and answer period. Spelling test provided at the end of the process to final round candidates if successful at interview.
I applied online. The process took 2 days. I interviewed at Staples (Savannah, GA) in Mar 2011
Interview
I was interviewed by all three managers separately. When doing the interviews, the assistant manager interviewed me first and kind of told me a bit about the interview process. It was a very laidback interview. That same day, I was interviewed by the general manager of the store (again, very laidback). On a later date, I was called back for an interview with the supervisor of the department I was applying to. This interview was more of a "let's make sure we fit well together on a social level" type interview (which I believe is a very good thing to do). After that, I was offered a job with the company and began training.
