Intro phone interview. Asked the basic questions. Didn't like their pay structure, nor the fact that they do 50min massages on the hour. The claim to "care" about therapists, but ANY spa that does 50 min massages with the typical no turn around time, Does not care about anything but how much money THEY get, Not YOU, Also if the amount they say you make per hour includes your tips ... run. Tips should never be included in what the company pays you. Tips are ALWAYS 100% YOURS. Spas and massage business like this one have ruined what could be great careers for the massage industry. Therapists should be making minimum 50% commission on all services, period. And Therapists it is up to you to make this change. Stop working for unethical places that pay low wages and they will have to increase our wages.
I applied online. I interviewed at Squeeze Massage (Scottsdale, AZ)
Interview
After my practical the lead therapist and owner were speaking cryptically to one another about my performance while I was there, very passive aggressive. When I asked when they might reach out to me with their decision the owner hung his head down, holding in laughter, before saying maybe within the next week. Unprofessional.
I applied in-person. I interviewed at Squeeze Massage (Denver, CO) in May 2023
Interview
The interview was a low pressure conversation in which the interviewer asked a series of canned questions. a Few people were present. Giving a half hour massage was required. One question they asked was "describe a problem that came up with a customer and how you resolved it." Another was to "rate yourself in terms of how much pressure you can provide on a scale from one to ten."
