6 total interviews: Screening (HR), peer interview, direct report interview, COO, peer interview (impromptu), CEO.
While the process was long, there was a sense that nobody I spoke with was really "driving". With the exception of the COO, nobody seemed to have an agenda or plan for the conversation. Honestly, the peer and direct report interviews felt like they were something of an annoyance getting in the way of other work that needed to be done.
When I spoke to the CEO, she admitted that she wasn't even sure the role we were talking about was the right one, or if they should be hiring for a different position entirely (which seems odd given how late in the process we were).
None of the interviews were recorded either, so not sure how they are gathering feedback or vetting the process internally, or ensuring their interviewers are doing a good job.
Everyone I spoke with was very pleasant and most seemed competent. They were also very honest and transparent about what was working and not working in the firm and what this hire would need to do to be successful (or not).
