I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Spidergap in Jan 2020
Interview
I liked the fact that all the steps of interview process was clearly communicated throughout, so I knew what to expect. First there was an online application, then a very brief screening interview, followed by a longer interview that allowed for more questions from both sides. This was followed by a series of tasks such as writing responses to customers and having a mock phone call with a customer. At this point I was informed that the role had already been filled, but the next stage would have been checking references. All in all, it was a positive experience and it seems like a company with a collegial working environment.

The initial interview was conducted by a team member followed by a second interview with the co-founder regarding company values. Following the interview process was completion of some test tasks.

Question 1
How have you proven to others that you are proactive and dependable?
I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Spidergap in Aug 2018
Interview
The interview process was fairly conventional and transparent: An online application (mix of thought provoking questions and providing a written response to a support email) followed by a screening interview, an interview with one of the co-founders, written exercises and a role play phone call.
Less typical was the high level of responsiveness and engagement I encountered throughout the process. The interviews and role play call were comfortable and immediate feedback was offered. The co-founders responded quickly and kindly to all correspondence - including the email I sent after learning I was not chosen for the position.
I have no doubt the stellar way I was treated is indicative of how Spidergap treats their customers: With great care and consideration. It is refreshing, in a hi-tech world, to find a SAAS company that embraces a hi-touch approach to all aspects of their business - including recruitment. Kudos to them for standing out in today’s often automated, algorithm-driven hiring process. Their humanity shows. Commitment to personal development doesn’t end with the product they are known for - it is apparent in the company’s practices as well. The experience reinforced my desire to become part of the Spidergap team and I will apply again when another role becomes available.
