If you weld a beam to a square plate, and bolt that plate to a wall with 4 bolts , and load the beam (basically a cantilever beam question), what are the types of loads on the bolts? Are the loads the same on the top and bottom bolts? If the bolt holes on the square plate aren't toleranced correctly (i.e., the holes are larger than the bolt) how would the load on the bolts change?
How long can you extend a tape measure before it "breaks"? How does that distance change if you flip it upside down? - note, they were not asking from a mathematical/technical perspective, just from an experiential/vibes based level.
