I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at SpaceX (Hawthorne, CA) in Oct 2024
Interview
Resume phone screen and system design, followed by pretty challenging but interesting (4-8 hour) take home. Usually there's one more round so I've heard, expedited with another offer. Interviewer very interested in workplace fit and alignment with personal goals.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Tell me about a project of your choice. What worked and what didn't. Why did they work and why not? (They really look for depth in your answers. Know you stuff and prepared to be drilled on the details. Find a good balance between giving a detailed response and not ranting)

Interview
I got reached out to by a recruiter to schedule a phone interview with a lead engineer on the team. He asked me questions about certain projects I listed on my resume, and then proceeded to ask me questions on different data structures & algorithms, and also where using them would be useful. After doing well there I got an email to complete a technical assessment. They allot 12 hours to complete it, but it shouldn't take you that long. After submitting that, I didn't get a response for about 4-weeks. Unfortunately, I didn't get the job but got good feedback.

Question 1
One of the questions:
What is a hash table, what does it offer, how does hashing work, what are hash collisions and how can they be addressed?
Recruited for the starship software team. I got cut in the second round. They filled the position and told me the team I am recruiting for no longer needs me.
Had a phone screening then technical interview. Then did not make it to next round. Phone screening asked both behavioral and technical questions more about concepts and working with a coding language (ie: python). Technical was typical straightforward coding question.
