Difficult interview
Application
I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at SpaceX (Hawthorne, CA) in Jun 2014
Interview
Technical phone screening, followed by group phone interview, then group in-person presentation and interview. The group obviously took a strong interest in who they hire because, even for this entry-level position, managers, the department director and VP showed up.This definitely had me intimidated but also showed that the company and it's employees care very much about their work. Technical capability and personality are perhaps equally weighted.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Many questions were asked about why certain design decisions were/weren't made on my senior design project.
The process consisted of two phone screens, one with a hiring manager and one with a senior engineer, and an onsite interview. The first call included behavioural and technical questions and the second call was almost exclusively technical.
Good interview process got asked a lot of technical questions first interview. Interesting since I was not the major for the role. I think it is pretty interesting interview tbh i don’t know
Started with a recruiter screening with 3 technical questions, then had a 30 minute technical interview with a manager followed by a 30 minute technical interview with a director. After that got an on site interview which consisted of a 30-minute technical presentation and then 5 one-on-one technical interviews/techinical walk-and-talks with various engineers, managers, and directors.
