I applied through a recruiter. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Soroco (London, England) in Nov 2018
Interview
The entire process to summarize was exhaustive with the following rounds.
1. Initial screening by hiring manager
2. Email assessment and case study analysis
3. Presentation of #2 to a panel to demonstrate your understanding
4. Technical round
5. Interview with head of recruitment
6. Skype call with the CIO
7. Final telephonic round with a Indian head
8. Buffer Skype round with the same Indian head.
The first 5 rounds were closed off in one day and the other rounds were covered over a period of two weeks.
Coming from organizations which are well structured and have relatively established processes, I made a few observations
1. Not well thought out or planned interview process. At one point in time, you receive a conflicting email that they are proceeding with other candidates, but you are then followed up by a call from HR that there are couple of other rounds and you are not out of the contest yet.
The HRs need to get their act together.
2. They speak very highly about the resoures apparently from NIT, IIT grads who were developers but now work on support projects.
The management seems to only gloat about themselves and scare candidates about the roles and responsibilites. On the contrary, seem to have little clue about hiring for the said role.
3. Conflicting feedbacks after rounds and sloppy co-ordinaton of interviews.
4. Follow up needed to check with HR on feedback.
5. No transport arrangements, no insurance cover for family from what I know of.
It did seem like one will be on an exponential growth but it comes at the cost of having to sacrifice work life balance, an obvious trait being a startup it is.
All the best !
